Maloggia

from the Maloja pass to the Lake and the Lunghin Pass, a very satisfying but very demanding snowshoeing, the route is often steep and follows trajectories that cut the slope, where snowshoes work poorly.

The prize, however, is a unique view of the Engadine.

Adjust the course in Abse to the snow conditions, a route not to be tackled in the heat: risk of avalanches.

Description

The route starts from the edge of Maloggia, there is a small parking lot and an even smaller one just beyond. After a couple of hairpin bends in the woods, the path proceeds straight to the northwest cutting through the side of the mountain. It then faces a steep stretch and descends into the valley where the Inn descends, here you go towards the waterfall and with a couple of hairpin bends on the right you descend on the rocky leap that overlooks it. Here the path loses a slight slope and you face a soft and suggestive valley, ford the river and face the climb that goes around the basin of the lake and leads to its eastern end. To reach the pass you can climb from the valley or -as I did- keep to the left, without losing altitude. The descent takes place on the same track.
