Easy circular hike from Tschappina/Obergmeind via the Lüschersee lake to the Glaspass
Details
Description
In 1910, the naturally formed Lake Lüscher was drained because it was suspected to be connected to the landslides on the Heinzenberg. Extensive geological and hydrological investigations ultimately revealed that the lake played a fairly minor role in the landslides.
In 2022, the lake was refilled on a trial basis and now serves as a reservoir for a technical snowmaking system for the Tschappina-Lüsch-Urmein ski lifts during the winter.
From Obergmeind, the route leads via Brandegga up to the Lüschersee lake and on to the Glaspass. The return route follows the Glaserstrasse down to the Tschappina Oberbutzweg bus stop. From there, the route leads up through the forest on forest paths to Brandegga and finally back down to Obergmeind.
