Details

Description

The six-kilometre-long Connbächli is not only one of the oldest and longest ditches in the whole of Flims that still carries water today, it is also certainly one of the most beautiful hiking areas in the region - especially with children. In the early Middle Ages, the small stream was used to water the cattle in Conn. Today, it is no longer of any use in this sense, but it continues to delight hikers who stroll along its banks. On this tour, you can get to know the Bächli and one of the region's most beautiful lakes up close.

Depending on the snow conditions, the Connbächli only carries water from the beginning of May to the beginning of June.

Geheimtipp

Build your own Connschiffli or take our locally made kit and start the exciting cruise through the mystical Flimserwald.

Sicherheitshinweis

Firm footwear recommended and always supervise children.

Ausrüstung

Good hiking boots with good profile or trekking shoes.

Directions

Start in Flims Waldhaus at the car park by Lake Cauma. You will soon catch sight of its sparkling blue waters, but for now stick to Connbächli. After about five minutes of walking, you will reach the start of the extraordinary hiking trail along its shore. Hopefully you will have picked up a boat from the guest information centre beforehand. Because you can now put it to good use. Your boat (and you with it) will sail through the wonderful landscape until you reach a large clearing in the forest. Although the Connbächli Trail ends there, this tour goes even further: at a viewing platform, you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the Rhine Gorge, then a well-surfaced path leads you slowly back towards the starting point. You will also pass Lake Cauma, where you should definitely pause for a moment.
