Description
The Suvretta Pass, the World Championship Flow Trail and the Trais Fluors are among the best that the Upper Engadine has to offer for mountain bikers. On the Corviglia Grand Tour, these highlights are combined into one route. It is undoubtedly one of the best single trail tours in the Alps.
The tour starts on the Piz Nair and is only possible during the summer season of the mountain railways (July to October). From the summit you go into the single trail descent to the Suvretta Pass through a high alpine mountain world. The high-altitude path over to the Munt da San Murrezzan is a biting affair, again and again steep, but drivable ramps have to be mastered. By the way, the view of the opposite Bernina massif is particularly impressive from here. At the mountain station of the chairlift, the World Cup Trail begins, first as a "natural" single trail, further down as a top-class flow trail. Even a 360-degree curve is built in here. The path leads to a little above the signal railway, from where you roll over to the Chantarella. For the ascent to Corviglia, the funicular is now used to start the second part of the tour over to Trais Fluors. For this you go steeply up a gravel road, you reach the reservoir Lej Alv and then climb on a single trail up to Trais Fluors. Very fit mountain bikers master this ascent 90 percent riding, most push here a little longer. The mountain station of the Trais-Fluors cable car is reached, then you have to climb another few meters on a single trail. A bizarre lunar landscape lies here at your feet, far below the open valley floor with the airfield of Samedan and in the background the Piz Palü and the Piz Bernina. The path winds down to the Munt da la Bes-cha, you follow the high-altitude path on the left, but then soon turn right into the serpentine trail, which only ends at the very bottom of the valley floor.
Route:
(St. Moritz – Corviglia –) Piz Nair – SuvrettaPass – Munt da San Murrezzan – WM-Trail – Signal – Chantarella – Corviglia – Lej Alv – Cna Saluver – Trais Fluors – Munt da la Bes-cha – Cristolais – Celerina
