The fountain mermaid of Valendas leads young and old at seven stations along the circular route, which branches off the hiking trail along the Ruinaulta at two points. It tells short stories and sets observation tasks that sharpen the senses and allow nature, geology and history to be experienced in a fascinating way. Part of the path leads along the Rhine Gorge, where with a little luck you can observe the rare Common Sandpiper on the gravel banks of the river floodplain.
