Foppa - Runcahöhe

Fresh mountain air, wonderful winter views and delicious food at several refreshment stops await you on this winter hiking trail on the sunny side of Flims. While the snow crunches under your boots, sections with stunning views alternate with idyllic mountain forests.

After a leisurely ride on the mountain railway to Foppa, this winter hike initially leads uphill for around 20 minutes. The highest point is already reached from the alp hut settlement of Salein. The route now descends through the forest to the plain above the Flem stream and soon you are standing in front of the Runcahöhe mountain restaurant, where a well-earned refreshment stop awaits.

At some point, you should take a break from the magical late afternoon light. The descent back to Flims via winter hiking trail no. 3 takes another hour or so.

Stop off at the Runcahöhe restaurant and let yourself be spoilt by the fine delicacies.

Take the mountain railroad from Flims to the Foppa mountain station, where you start your hike. Your path first leads you slightly uphill through a quiet mountain forest. Turn left at signpost 122. Sometimes over snow-covered mountain meadows, over which you can see far into the valley, sometimes through dense forest, you then hike down to the Runcahöhe restaurant. Delicious treats tempt you to take a break here. Afterwards, the last two kilometers down to Flims await you.
