Description
The starting point for the hiking circuit is the Walser village of Furna, which is accessed via a mountain road from Pragg-Jenaz. The trail takes us across lush meadows upwards past scattered farmsteads until we reach a track beyond Scäri, which we follow off to the left. Shortly thereafter, it opens up views of the hilly, grassy high-plateau with the Berghaus Scära mountain hut. From here the mountain trail continues on upwards, rising gently as it traverses the slopes, circling the Wannenspitz and Fadeuer, and opening up the view into the valley running parallel, with its alpine meadows.
Before we cross the ridge after the Stelli hut and return to the Furna side in the direction of Alp Sattel, it is well worth the short climb to the summit of the Fadeuer, a vantage point with spectacular panoramic views. The final section of the trail takes us across pastures, at times without a path, then on an ordinary track, winding its way in hairpin bends from the Alp Sattel down through the forest to Hinterberg and across the road back to Furna.
Geheimtipp
After the Stelli hut on the ridge, keep right until you reach the incision. From there descent.
Sicherheitshinweis
In the case of mowed meadows, a good sense of direction is required, as the meadow paths are hardly visible. Often it also goes pathless over alpine pastures. There are very few mountain hiking trail markings in the whole area between the signposts! A detailed hiking map is recommended.
Directions
The starting point of the circular hike is the Walser village of Furna, which is accessible via a mountain road from Pragg-Jenaz. On lush pastures, the hike leads uphill past scattered farmsteads until you follow a road to the left after Scäri, which after a short time reveals a hilly, grassy plateau with the Scära mountain lodge. From here, the mountain trail leads gently uphill, circles Wannenspitz and Fadeuer and opens up a view of the parallel valley with its Alps. Before you cross the ridge again after the Stellihütte over to the Furna side in the direction of Alp Sattel, it is worth the short ascent to the summit to the Fadeuer, a vantage point with a magnificent panoramic view of the mountains. Over pastureland, partly pathless, partly on a road, the last section of the trail then leads to Alp Sattel in hairpin bends through the forest down to Hinterberg and over the road back to Furna.
