Lots of sun and a beautiful view are worth the effort of this half-day hike.

Geheimtipp

The view from the Leisalp to the opposite mountains and far into the neighboring valleys, partly to the Pizzas d'Anarosa is overwhelming.

A detour to the Hängelahütte Bergwirtschaft is worthwhile: Wonderful view, very good food with local products. Info: www.haengela.ch

Directions

From the mountain station of the Gadastatt gondola lift, take a narrow path out of the valley towards Stafelti and continue on the freight road to Leisalp. From the Leisalp almost flat further out of the valley to Schloss und Brand. There are some alpine and mountain huts. From Brand into the valley gently descend towards Hüttenen and An der Matta (Maiensässen). From there to Volchtanna and follow the signs, descending in curves down the slope back to Vals.

Get off at Vals (stop Valé) by PostBus from Ilanz. To get to the starting point of the hike, you have the opportunity to take the gondola lift of the Sportbahnen Vals AG to Gadastatt. Duration of the trip approx. 6 min.
