Description

This trail is as challenging as it is spectacular! It starts with a gentle ascent on a broad forest road that leads you into the Val Roseg. Once you reach the Hotel Restaurant Roseg Gletscher, the trail continues for a short distance before leading quite high up to Alp Ota. The glacier panorama is indescribably beautiful and invites you to linger.  Once you reach the signpost at 2569 metres, you can decide whether you want to take the detour to the Coaz hut (approx. 40 minutes) or continue directly towards Fuorcla Surlej. The great single trail across alpine pastures gently ascends up to the highest point of the tour at the Fuorcla Surlej (2'755 m). The hut offers a big terrace with a stunning view of the Bernina and glacier massif as well as a view - on the other side - across the lakescape. A rocky, narrow trail takes you downhill back towards the Hotel Restaurant Roseg Gletscher. From here you have two options to leave the valley: the same forest road that brought you here, or a comfortable ride by horse carriage.
