Description

The hike begins in Flumserberg Tannenboden and initially leads east above the settlement of Flumserberg. To do this, first follow the signs to Bödem on a road between holiday homes, then towards Anggetlin on a footpath. While crossing the ski slopes of the Flumserberg ski area and the Prodalpbahn, you always have a view of the mighty Churfirsten. After a small bridge, the holiday home settlement of Anggetlin is reached, here the hike follows the tarred road downhill in a few curves. Now the path leads across meadows, through woods and streams down to Bödem. Here you will find a nice picnic area by a pond. From here you walk into the Schilstal, first even further downhill to Bruggwiti with the small reservoir. Continue in the direction of Wisen, first along the valley road for a short time, then on the left over alpine meadows. Shortly before Alp Wisen, you reach the valley road again, which you follow for a short distance to Steinbrugg (1163 m above sea level). The signpost for Halden/Wildenberg/Schönhalden indicates that you have to turn left after 400 metres after the bridge. At this junction, the steep ascent along red-white-red markings begins. The ascent takes about 1.45 hours and leads past the alpine hut on Untercheer to the beautiful Alp Sässli. A short time later, the highest point is reached at about 1800 m above sea level near Halden. The path now leads slightly downhill, first as a mountain path and then as an alpine road, always with a panoramic view from Spitzmeilen to Churfirsten. At Alp Wildenberg with its direct sale of alpine products, you have almost reached your destination, it is only a few steps to the Berghotel Schönhalden with its hotel's own mountain railway.

Geheimtipp

On the terrace of the Berghotel Schönhalden you have a panoramic view of the Seeztal and the opposite peaks of the Churfirsten and Alvier chains.
