Description

From Alp Grüm the trail descends rapidly through the larch forests to Alpe Palü and then up to Lagh da Caralin. It is possible that there are still stretches of snow to cross along the way. It's worth it because the glacial lake fed by a dozen waterfalls is a unique lonely place where the falling water creates extraordinary optical and acoustic effects. In addition, the icy water is ideal for a Kneipp path.

Viewpoint Valposchiavo

Alp Grüm

Alp Grüm is located at 2,091 m above sea level on the edge of the first slope of the Valposchiavo. From here you can enjoy an unmistakable view over the whole Valposchiavo, which extends to Italy. In 1910, the Bernina Line of the Rhaetian Railway was built here. The pretty station building, made of quarry stones, is both a restaurant and a hotel and was opened in 1926.
