Description
The Arosa Bear Sanctuary is an experience for young and old. The Arosa Bear Sanctuary provides a species-appropriate home for bears that are rescued from poor housing conditions. Bears that used to be chained up in a tiny, dirty cage are freed from this predicament by FOUR PAWS and brought to Arosa.
In the middle of the natural mountain landscape with pastures, shrubs, rocks, streams and forest, the bears can learn their natural behaviors. And visitors can watch them do it.
The route from Lenzerheide to the Arosa Bear Sanctuary is shortened by the use of numerous gondola and chairlifts, making it easily feasible for families.

Directions
The start is in Lenzerheide at the Rothorn cable car. From there, take the Rothorn 1 up to the Scharmoin middle station. This is followed by a fairly flat ten-minute walk to the valley station of the Weisshornspeed chairlift, which now also transports guests in summer. Once you arrive at the mountain station, there is a second short hike to the Urdenfürggli, where the next cable car is already waiting: the Urdenbahn. The Urdenbahn takes you quickly to the Hörnli, from where you can take the Hörnli-Express gondola lift to Inner Arosa. Now you can either walk through the village or take the local bus to the valley station of the Weisshornbahn. Now the last gondola ride follows. The Arosa Weisshorn cable car takes you to the Arosa Bear Sanctuary. There is a great playground, as well as the visitor platform.
You can return to Arosa station either on foot or again by gondola.
