Description
On the world's only signposted adventure and educational trail, you will encounter the furry hibernator in its natural habitat. Along the way, you will learn lots of interesting facts about the life of marmots at eleven stations.
The educational trail leads from Loretschhus near Avers-Juppa to Alp Bergalga/Olta Stofel (2074 m above sea level). The hiking time from/to Loretschhus is approx. 2 hours. The trail is suitable for baby carriages and also for wheelchair users with aids (e.g. Swisstracs). There is a well-equipped barbecue area and a playground at the start of the trail.
Here you will find various information about the nature trail and the texts for the 11 stations.
Any trail closures/restrictions or detour can be found here.
Geheimtipp
The marmots usually take a siesta between 12.00 and 15.00 when the sun is at its most beautiful. Ideally, you should therefore visit them before or after this time. Binoculars are definitely recommended. The marmots usually hibernate from mid-September.
