Steep and beautiful: from Disentis Monastery via Caischavedra to Bostg (Piz Plaun Grond)
Details
Description
The trail run over the roofs of Disentis begins at the car park of Disentis Monastery and first leads a few metres out of the valley before we quickly gain height on the avalanche dam at Rein da Val Sogn Placi and run through the forest above Disentis, mostly slightly uphill, towards Val Clavaniev and Val Acletta. Here begins the actual, steep but beautiful forest ascent to Caischavedra. Even before reaching the mountain station, it is worth taking a rest on the benches at Stavel. Past the Caischavedra mountain station, we walk around the Val Segnas without gaining or losing much altitude and after the last few metres of altitude we reach the Bostg. Downhill we opt for a varied variant to Mompé Tujetsch. Then the path leads us back to the monastery with a view of Disentis.
Option1: From Bostg further west over the crest towards Bugnei and on hiking trail no. 85 back to Disentis.
Option 2: Shortcuts as desired with the aerial cableway or the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn.
Geheimtipp
During the operating hours of the mountain railway, a stopover in the mountain restaurant on the panorama terrace is a good idea - and in late summer you should definitely plan time to collect blueberries...
