Description
On the Bergblumen Trail between the Segneshütte and Alp Nagens you will encounter a diverse flora on the hiking trail. From July to September you will find information boards with names, ecology and stories of the plants. The information boards are located near the plants. Take your time and leisure to have a closer look at one or the other plant.
Just behind the Segneshütte lies the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Tectonic Arena Sardona allows unique insights into the history of the formation of the alpine mountains and valleys. Along the line visible from afar, the Glarner Hauptüberschiebung, also called the "magic line", 250-300 million year old rocks slid onto much younger rocks, some of them "only" 35-50 million years old. This happened 10-20 million years ago far below the earth's surface at that time!
