Description
The element of earth can be discovered on the 6.5-kilometre-long Feldiser Blumenweg. The basic material earth can be explored on a walk to the old arable terraces, to the Erratic Block and to the Thusisblick viewpoint.
Erratic Block
Until the last great ice age ended a good 10,000 years ago, gigantic glaciers covered the area of today's Graubünden. However, the glaciers were not rigid, but moved simply because of their own weight. And sometimes they carried stone blocks weighing tons with them. One such erratic boulder was deposited near Feldis by the Albula Glacier. Until modern times, this erratic block served as a so-called "term", as a boundary stone between the villages of Feldis and Scheid.
