Description

From Samedan first through the village to the valley station of the Survih ski lift and then in an increasingly steep zigzag up to Alp Munt. The route is flatter through the Valletta valley until a path marked with a cairn branches off at point 2583. The path then joins the white-blue-white marked path coming from point 2777 at the beginning of the Botta Naira valley. Follow the white-blue-white markings steeply upwards below Piz Ot. Through the south-eastern and eastern flanks, the well-maintained path, secured with ropes, winds its way steeply up to the summit in several hairpin bends. The panoramic view is unique!

The descent is on the same path down to Samedan. Alternatively, you can also descend to point 2777. From there, a short counter-climb leads to Fuorcla Valletta and in a good 1.5 hours to the Corviglia cable car.

A detour to Alp Muntatsch for a well-deserved break is well worth it.

Experience in exposed terrain. Appropriate, sturdy footwear. Good orientation skills. Alpine experience. Good preparation: time and weather considerations, ground conditions & group dynamics need to be considered.
