Description
On a plateau above Pfäfers lies lonely and abandoned the scattered settlement of St. Margrethenberg. The start and end point of the easy circular hike is the car park at the valley station of the Tristeli ski lift. A slightly ascending hiking trail leads through forests and across flower-filled meadows towards the summit of Pizalun. A steep but well-developed staircase leads to the top of the Pizalun viewing platform. Up here, the Bündner Herrschaft and the Sarganserland are literally at your feet. Thanks to the panorama boards, you can also name the many mountains around. From Pizalun down towards Fürggli, a leisurely hiking trail leads past the Jägeri mountain inn. Back on the plateau, you return to the starting point on the rarely used road - partly along the mountain stream and past the Sankt Margrethenberg chapel.
