Description

Very scenic hike through the enchanting Val Roseg and then up to Fuorcla Surlej. In the ascent from Roseg, the panorama opens with every step. The view of the arena with Piz Tschierva, Piz Bernina (Biancograt), Piz Roseg is overwhelming and is certainly one of the top 10 panoramas in the Alpine region! As a result, it is almost forgotten that from Roseg the path is relatively long (750 hm) and steep. At Fuorcla Surlej, the panorama opens up towards Piz Julier. From the Fuorcla on the right way in just under 45 minutes to the middle station of the Corvatschbahn.

Ausrüstung

sturdy footwear, rain cover

Directions

From Pontresina train station, take the main signpost at the car park after the bridge. Turn right here and follow the good path towards Roseg. The last km follows the road, which is relatively heavily used by horse-drawn carriages and bikers on nice days. But at the restaurant we leave the hustle and bustle and climb in some bends in a good 2 hours on a good hiking trail to Fuorcla Surlej. From here on Karrweg in just under 45 minutes to the clearly visible middle station of the Corvatschbahn and take the train down into the valley in a few minutes. Alternative descent on foot via Margun Surlej (approx. +1.30 hours)

Difficulty: Roseg - Fuorcla Surlej (T2), rest T1

The trail is nowhere exposed or dangerous and therefore also suitable for families with smaller children (provided there is enough endurance for 4 - 5 hours of hiking).

Catering in Val Roseg, on the Fuorcla Surlej and at the middle station
