Description

We leave Ilanz on a “secret path” in the direction of Castrisch and Valendas. On the village square, by the largest wooden fountain in Europe, we could fortify ourselves for the upcoming, sweaty ascent to the mountain village of Dutjen.

With a slight burning sensation in our thighs, we approach the plateau step by step, which rewards us with magnificent flower meadows and a magnificent view over the Surselva and the Rhine Gorge.

The descent via Riein leads partly along the old village road and provides a brief technical challenge. Before Ilanz, there are a few more meters of gravel enjoyment to round off this magnificent tour.

Geheimtipp

Besenbeiz in the village of Ober Dutjen. Refreshments are almost a must after this ascent. There are fountains in all the villages where you can fill up your water bottles.

Sicherheitshinweis

The tour should not be undertaken in uncertain weather conditions. Weather changes are frequent in the mountains. If a rain front or similar is approaching during the hike, you should turn back in good time.
