San Jon – Avrona – (Lai Nair) – Gurlaina (Scuol)

You start at the PostBus stop "Scuol, Serras" or the car park at the cross-country skiing centre. For 300 m follow the road towards S-charl. Then turn left and cross the Inn. Pass by the Lischana fountain (here there is an opportunity to fill the drink bottle with a natural sports drink). After 100 m, before crossing the stream, turn right and follow the hiking trail. Shortly after a right turn, a path turns left. This leads in a zigzag course to a junction with a red bank at 1314 m above sea level. Here you take the middle road to Bellavista (beautiful view) to the village of Scuol. From here, follow the hiking trail until you reach a paved road. Here you turn left and after a few meters follows the hiking trail to the San Jon riding stable. Turn right and follow the hiking trail to S-charl along the stables. Shortly after the San Jon parking lot, take the path to the left and cross the road to S-charl. After 600 m you reach the road to S-charl again, which you follow for about 800 m. Here a narrow path turns off to Avrona and you can enjoy the "downhill route" down to the Clemgia. On the opposite side of the river begins the Swiss National Park. After the bridge, there is a short climb to Avrona. Chamois are often grazing here. You cross the garden of the Avrona inn, which is recommended for a stop.

From here there are several options:

Variant 1: via Vulpera

In front of the fountain at the Avrona inn, turn right to the Avrona mountain school and follow the marked hiking trail in the direction of Vulpera - Scuol. The beautiful path leads through the typical Engadine forest in some curves to Vulpera. From here it is only a few meters to the finish in Gurlaina, Scuol.

Variant 2: via Lai Nair, Tarasp

Right at the parking lot of the Avrona inn, opposite the fountain, a forest path begins slightly hidden. First it goes up relatively steeply for a few meters, followed by a flow trail with a pleasant incline along the ridge until you reach the wider road. Follow this and soon you will see the beautiful Lai Nair on the right side. After passing the lake, you reach a path that turns right. Follow this path in the direction of Tarasp. Near the large antenna follows the path to the hill with the cross, from here you have a beautiful view of Tarasp Castle and Lai da Tarasp. On the hill, follow the signs for Sgné and then cross the main road and the hamlet of Sgné towards Florins. In front of Florins, at the bench, turn right and follow another wonderful trail; first curvy, then flat and finally curvy again. Soon you reach the Inn at the Trinkhalle/Büvetta. Cross the Inn Bridge and take the hiking trail on the left side of the Inn. In front of the Büvetta Sfondraz restaurant (refreshment stop in summer), cross the Inn again and follow the path on the right side of the Inn to the end point of the tour in Gurlaina.
