Description

High above the Surselva, and below the rugged rocks of Piz Cavardiras and Piz Run, the scenic and sunny path leads us past the small lakes Lag Serein and Lag Crest Ault to Lag Brit.

We hike from the Cable Car Station Caischavedra first to Lag Serein. Continue in a zigzag up and zackzack; we are already at the Lag Crest Ault. It can only be admired in summer as a turquoise blue lake. In autumn you look for it in vain - it dries out.  After another ascent over alpine pastures we reach the Lag Brit. The location is impressive. If we look south, the mountain panorama is fantastic. In the north, the Piz Run and the Piz Lumpegna block the view.

We take a break to be fit for the last climb. Now it goes steeply up over hill and dale, we even take our hands to help in between.  As soon as we reach the highest point of the tour, at 2550 meters, we are happy that it is now only downhill. But until we reach Foppa, we still have to go concentrated, only further down the path leads gently over alpine pastures again. We descend through the Val Lumpegna and we take our time, because the altitude meters can go nicely into the legs. The last section we walk on the Via da Paders, past the monastery Disentis to the valley station of the cable car.

Geheimtipp

If you prefer to climb the altitude, you can also do the tour the other way around. Then you will be rewarded with a descent with the cable car.

Sicherheitshinweis

Above La Brit, the tour leads over block rock.

Ausrüstung

Hiking poles are recommended.

Directions

From the mountain station of the cable car in Caischavedra we hike on the marked hiking trail to Lag Serein and on to Lag Crest Ault and Lag Brit. In Foppa we descend into Val Lumpegna. We follow the signs over Alp Lumpegna, to Val Sogn Placi. Above the church of S. Placidus, a marked hiking trail leads us to the right in the direction of the monastery. Through the monastery we reach via da Paders.  On this way we can walk the last part off the main road to the valley station.
