Signalisierter Schneeschuhtrail: Surcuolm / Bündner Rigi
Show all 9 images
The marked snowshoe trail offers everything a great day tour should offer: lots of untouched winter landscapes and far-reaching views. It can be culinary upgraded in Cuolm Sura or the Graubünden Rigi.
Details
Description
The tour starts at the old sawmill above Surcuolm. Running flat is not an option here. It goes uphill immediately, although a few meters of relaxation are always announced. The route takes you through forest clearings, past old stables or across wide alpine meadows. It's always worth taking a look back, because the panorama is very impressive everywhere.
Already from Pastira Sura, the ascent and descent route separate. We recommend going left towards Cuolm Dado first. These slopes are more suitable for climbing. The pink posts, sometimes flat, sometimes steeper, now lead you under the former Sasolas ski lift to the Graubünden Rigi. The restaurant invites you to take a break with one of the best views of the Surselva. Please be sure to check the opening hours.
The way back is the same at the beginning. Immediately after the ski lift cable, turn left towards Cuolm Sura. In the mountain restaurant Cuolm Sura there are already the best catering options before the tour leads in a direct line back to Surcolm.
Geheimtipp
Refreshment stops in Surcuolm (3 restaurants), Graubünden Rigi (not always open) and Cuolm Sura (always open in season)
Sicherheitshinweis
This snowshoe tour is marked off-road with pink posts, but is not groomed. There are some steeper slopes. If there is a high risk of avalanches, tours in unsecured terrain must be avoided as a matter of principle.
You can find out more about the current avalanche danger on WhiteRisk .
For carefree enjoyment on longer tours, we recommend our mountain guides and snowshoe hiking guides of the Surselva.
