Description
Starting point of this tour is the small Engadin village of S-charl. This village can only be reached in winter by a horse-drawn carriage, which commutes daily between Scuol and S-charl. The route starts at Gasthaus Mayor. Shortly after leaving the village, the route runs parallel to the course of the river Clemgia, always slightly ascending towards the south. In the course of the day you will pass the Alp Astras and the God da Tamangur, the highest contiguous Swiss stone pine forest in Europe at 2'300 m above sea level, before reaching the highest point of the day, the Pass da Costainas. The descent then takes place past Alp Champatsch to the small village of Lü in Val Müstair, the end point of this tour.
