Strätscherhorn im Safiental
Show all 6 images
In safe conditions, the Strätscherhorn is a fairly easy ski tour in the farthest Safiental. The mountains here are very special. The steep slopes of the Gelbhorn and Bruschghorn on the other side of the valley shape the landscape in a very impressive way. The views at the top are beautiful either way.

Description
Immediately behind the Turrahus, the tour begins quite steeply, until the terrain becomes a little flatter again at the crossing above the Falätscher Hütta. The terrain at about 2200 m.a.s.l. becomes more challenging in the short term. A good and safe choice of route is important here. At about 2400 m above sea level, you come out of a gully onto a high plateau. This now leads from the back to the flat summit of the Strätscherhorn.
The descent leads over the often blown-off, wide slope to the east. With a bit of luck you will catch a few sheltered gullies filled with powder. At the altitude of about 2300 meters above sea level, you leave your back and drive into the often powdery NE slopes. Here it is very important to pay attention to the wildlife rest areas in the lower part. There is only one narrow passage that you absolutely have to catch. At the compensation basin you come back to the valley floor and now first on the winter hiking trail, then on the valley road back to the Turrahus.

Sicherheitshinweis
Ski and snowshoe tours in unsecured terrain require good knowledge of avalanche danger assessment and tour planning. Furthermore, a complete safety upgrade must always be carried - regardless of the current avalanche danger.
We recommend the WhiteRisk app and website to prepare and plan the tour.
For carefree enjoyment, we recommend our mountain guides and snowshoe hiking guides of the Surselva.
