Description
The Outdoor Fitness Trails in the Heidiland holiday region comprise more than 30 uniformly signposted running routes from a total of 10 stations, making it one of the largest open-air fitness parks in the Alpine region. The Terzen-Trail is one of four running trails around the Unterterzen station.
The starting point for this 5.8 km long trail is the info point of the Unterterzen station on the lake side of the underpass to Unterterzen station (425 m above sea level). From there, the first part of the route is through the Walensee Resort. Then the trail follows the tarred beach path to Mols. Constant companions to the left are the turquoise-blue Walensee and the imposing Churfirsten. Once you arrive in Mols, you go through the railway and road underpass into the village. Here begins the crisp ascent under the motorway to Tisen (486). The Terzen Trail continues on a well-developed dirt road through a deciduous forest to Hamifiu (632), a large clearing with various farms and a magnificent view of Lake Walen and Churfirsten. The greatest effort is now behind you, because the last meters of altitude to below Oberterzen (665) run almost straight ahead. Now it's all downhill! Up to the Chammbach bridge (560), the trail runs on a well-developed dirt road on open terrain. On the final descent back to Unterterzen, the Chammbach is a constant companion. The trail leads here on a rather steep hiking trail through a partly dense deciduous forest. When you arrive at the cantonal road in Unterterzen, the underpass takes you back to the starting point below the railway line.
