Description
Don't forget: at the start at the valley station of the Lagalb cable car, we are already at 2,100 meters above sea level: the tour should therefore be approached slowly. The path climbs immediately before it leads relatively flat into Val Minor through alpine meadows with cows and horses. On the right-hand side, the high north face of Piz Lagalb dominates the route, on the left-hand side the gentler, level-headed slopes of 3,000-metre peaks such as Piz Minor.
Following the Ova Minor stream, you reach the first high point of the tour: the mountain lake Puoz Minor, followed by some smaller lakes and the Lej Minor. A short climb on rocks carved by the glacier leads to the Fuorcla Minor. If you feel like it and have the time, you can turn left here and continue for about half an hour towards the Italian border with views towards Forcola di Livigno and Livigno (and back again ...). Attention: in this area the path runs on official bike routes, mutual consideration is required.
From the Fuorcla Minor, wonderful views of the imposing Piz Cambrena and the glacier landscape of the Bernina Group open up. Along the southern flank of Piz Lagalb, the descending path leads back to the valley station of the Lagalb cable car.
