Description

The starting points of the hike are the Voralp inn or the Höhi public car park. The alpine road leads over the Risiwald and Vorderstöcken Alps to the remains of the walls of the former buildings of the Alp Alt Hütte, which were destroyed by a dust avalanche. The hiking trail leads over alpine meadows to the Nideri, on the municipal border between Walenstadt and Grabs. Here you have a wonderful view of Lake Walen and the Seez Valley. The narrow path continues over steeply sloping meadowland. After a little more than half an hour, the highest point is reached with the Höchst and the magnificent view compensates for the efforts. Over pastures, the route leads to the Obersess on Alp Naus, from where the imposing Gamsberg can be seen. The path becomes wider and leads along the Voralpsee back to the mountain inn.
