A snowshoe trail that turns the mountains upside down: the UNESCO tour clearly shows how older rock strata edged their way above younger rocks during the mountain formation.

Description
The mountain railroad takes you directly from Flims to Segnes station without having to change. Before you strap on your snowshoes, it's worth visiting the Sardona visitor pavilion at the Segnes hut. Here you can learn how the Alps were formed. Then set off on the marked circular trail, which takes around an hour. The plateau offers pleasure-seekers an excellent opportunity to explore the winter landscape at their leisure. A spectacular view of the striking Tschingelhörner peaks, which tower majestically into the sky and impressively shape the panorama, awaits you here.
This tour is located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site Tectonic Arena Sardona, where untouched nature and clear winter air create a very special atmosphere. In this place where geology tells a story, the well-signposted paths invite you to pause and admire the fascinating surroundings.
Before heading back down to the valley, you can fortify yourself at the Segneshütte and enjoy a snack on the wonderfully sunny terrace.
Geheimtipp
Treat yourself to a night in total silence and marvel at the infinity of the winter night sky during an overnight stay in the Segneshütte.
Ausrüstung
Well-functioning snowshoes, sticks with winter plates, good footwear, winter-proof clothing. The wind can sensitively reduce the perceived temperature in winter: do not forget winter gloves, hat, thermos flask, etc.
Directions
From the Segnes station, the marked snowshoe trail leads out onto the Untere Segnesboden. Immersing yourself in the silence far away from civilization has a meditative character. Where the terrain rises towards the Segnes Pass and the Tschingelhörner peaks proudly look out in front of you, the trail turns and leads back to Segnes on the other side of the plain. As an alternative to the descent on the FlemXpress, there is the option of descending for half an hour towards Berghaus Nagens and then taking the Arena Express down into the valley.
