Val Sumvitg round tour

The tour leads exclusively on side roads as well as forest and natural roads and is therefore perfect for beginners, e-bikes and gravel bikes. From Rabius, ride downhill and turn right shortly after the Beer SA company building. Then follow the dirt road to the railroad underpass, then turn right and take the side road towards Surrein via Marias and Igniu. In the center of the village near Giachentrina, the road zigzags uphill. A short time later you reach the side road of Val Sumvitg. After passing through the adventurous “Barschaus” road tunnel, the valley opens up and you reach the little village of Val. Continue in the direction of Tenigerbad, passing an old spa hotel. After descending and crossing the young Rein da Sumvitg, you reach the wild and romantic Lag da Runcahez reservoir. From here, you can enjoy the ride on the dirt road and admire the remote and largely unspoilt Val Sumvitg. You will soon reach the Val Tenigia alp, where a barbecue site and the river invite you to linger. On the way back to Rabius, you head out of the valley again. After crossing the dam wall of Lag da Runcahez, the trail continues on the left side of the river to Tenigerbad. Continue through the tunnel again, always following the side road until you reach the turn-off to Cumpadials. Turn right and ride through Surrein along the valley floor. After crossing the Rhine, turn left onto the old dirt road towards Rabius. A short break in the nearby Parkigniu with picnic area and bike skill park is highly recommended. Finally, you follow the old road up to the starting point in Rabius.
