Details
Description
From San Romerio take the mule track and then the newly built road to reach Viano (1 1/2 hour). Then follows a short climb to La ogana (unmanned). Up to Roncaiola (I) you will discover traces of the old paths used by smugglers. From Roncaiola begins a path, partly paved, through the vineyards to Tirano.
This is where the last part of the Via Valtellina ends. Tirano is the starting point of the Italian part of the Via Valtellina. From here, in fact, the Via dei Terrazzamenti begins up to Morbegno.
Welcome to Italy. Tirano was the starting point for wine transporters. Here grows the Valtellina grapes. To crown the excursion: a delicious tasting of Valtellina specialties (wines, brasaola and cheese) and a visit to the Palazzo Salis.
