Walensee Bike No. 476

The starting point is the harbour and market town of Walenstadt. The route leads briefly over the weapons range of the Swiss Army before it climbs and leads along beautiful paths behind the striking hill called "Raischibe" in front of it. The first ascent is done when the view of Lake Walen opens up on the right. Now the route, which runs almost continuously on natural roads on this section, falls and climbs through forests, meadows and agricultural farmsteads. Again and again, Lake Walen and the Churfirsten come into view along the way and offer incomparable panoramas.
Once at the highest point, a dirt road branches off to the right, which leads steeply downhill for the next 400 meters in altitude - a test for driver and brakes. After crossing the Murgbach, there is a leisurely roll-out along the lake back to Walenstadt. On the way, the lidos in Murg, Unterterzen and Mols invite you to take a refreshing dip in the lake.
