Weitwanderung Bergsteigerdorf Ardez – AVS Schutzhütte Sesvenna

The most challenging stage starts in the small hamlet of S-Charl on the border of the Swiss National Park. After a short flat section, the steep ascent begins via the Fora da l'Aua between the Piz Cotschen and the Piz d'Immez. On the lake district between the Lajet de Laschana and the Lai d'Immez, you cross the border to the AVS refuge Sesvenna.

Switzerland's last brown bear was shot in S-Charl, and the Bear Museum provides a fascinating insight into the history of bears.

Public transport takes you to the beautiful little village of S-Charl. From here the trail starts through the Val Sesvenna along the stream Aua Sesvenna, which already bears the name of the stage finish. After a short flat ascent, the steepest part of the stage begins, here about 800 meters of altitude are overcome. Once you arrive at Lajet de Lischana, it is worth taking a short break and enjoying the magnificent view. The route leads along the various lakes to the Slingia Pass, where the border into South Tyrol is crossed. The last few meters invite you to relax again until you reach the stage destination, the AVS refuge Sesvenna.
