On the mountain road or on the old mountain path, you go up from Valens, through beautiful meadows and mountain pastures, in the direction of Alp Branggis. Magnificent views of the steeply rising Calanda amply reward hikers. An entertaining ascent to the magnificent Alp Tristeli is followed by the steep descent to Glattrüti, all along shady forest paths. From Sandgrube, the path leads into the valley back to Valens.
