Beautiful half-day hike in a lonely high valley amidst spetacular mountain scenery. Sheep, large boulders and the constant murmur of water accompany your way.

At Canalbeach, at the end of the lake towards Canal Valley, listen to the water and enjoy the tranquillity.

On this hike you have to expect free-roaming guard dogs to protect the sheep.
It is not advisable to bring guide dogs.

Ausrüstung
Solid, rainproof, warm clothing. Sturdy mountain or trekking boots. Gloves, hat, sun protection. Hiking poles, food and drinks from your rucksack, emergency first-aid kit, topographical map, altimeter, compass, mobile phone, torch.
Directions
From the car park at the Zervreila restaurant. Do not cross the dam wall. Continue in the direction of Zerfreila Chapel. Easy descent towards the Canal Bridge. The emerald green Zerfreila Lake is always in view. Do not cross the canal bridge. Before the bridge, turn left and follow the Canalbach on the path above the stream to Canalalp (1976 m). Take the same path back to Zerfreila.

From Chur via Ilanz to Vals. By post bus or private car. From Vals on to Zerfreila, also by postbus or private car.
Parking
Parking in front of the Zervreila Restaurant or in the car park at the Zerfreila Chapel.
