Description
This multi-day cross-country skiing tour begins in the tranquil Lower Engadine village of Lavin. Goal? From here, run to Maloja in the Upper Engadine, where around 14,000 participants start the legendary Engadin Ski Marathon on the second weekend in March. 69 kilometres and 720 metres of elevation gain are on the agenda, whereby you can adjust the number of stages as you wish or board the Rhaetian Railway in between.
After the start in Lavin, the trail leads along the Inn to Zernez. At Susch and shortly before Zernez you have to take off your skis and walk a few minutes to the next cross-country ski trail entrance. After Zernez, the trail follows about 14 kilometres, mostly through the forest. Enjoy the peace and quiet and the snow-covered winter forest. From S-chanf you run more or less on the original route of the Engadin Ski Marathon. The only exception: At Samedan, you can run up via Celerina on the dream trail through the Staz Forest. The highlights to the finish in Maloja: Staz Forest, typical Engadine villages with houses decorated with sgraffito and the beautiful cross-country ski trail over the frozen Engadine lakes. Especially here you have to hope for a tailwind.
