Alp Neaza

Healthy cows, tender grasses and flavourful herbs are the best ingredients for a special kind of alp cheese. Made by experienced dairymen at over 2200 metres above sea level. metres above sea level and lovingly cared for by the farmers, it is an unforgettable treat for the palate.

Description

Alp Neaza is one of the few alpine pastures that still cheeses on a swinging fire. In August, the cheese is still mild and milky. In the cellars in Val Schons, it develops over the winter into a flavoursome and harmonious alpine cheese. It has become an indispensable part of a snack platter or as an accompaniment to a good slice of Grisons pear bread.

Alp Neaza is not accessible by public transport.

Directions

With a driving licence from the municipality of Andeer, it is possible to drive up to the alp. We recommend travelling on foot or by mountain bike from Val Schons to the alp.
