The duo around pianist Yuka Munehisa Demenga and their projects in Norway, Switzerland and Japan are a source of never-ending research and development of communication through music – both on a personal level and in exchange with schoolchildren in Japan.

Hilde Skomedal studied at the Barratt Due Musikkinstitutt in Oslo and at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne. As a soloist, she has performed with the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra and Sandnes Orkesterforening.
In 2013, Hilde Skomedal completed a master's degree in baroque cello with Bruno Cocset at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève. A meeting with choreographer Béatrice Massin in 2012 awakened her passion for dance, which led her to collaborate with the Zurich-based 3art3 Company. In 2015/16 she directed the innovative project Science Fiction Lieder together with Kevin Juillerad and pianist Lucas Buclin. Hilde Skomedal regularly collaborates with the Norwegian jazz singer and composer Benedicte Torget.

The Japanese pianist Yuka Munehisa Demenga studied piano at the Conservatoire National de Region in Paris and at the Haut Ecole de Musique / Conservatoire in Lausanne. She obtained her master's degree with Christian Favre.
After winning 1st prizes at the International Music Competition in Osaka and the Medoc-Aquitaine Piano Competition in Merignac, she founded the "Arte Animi pianoduo" with Samuel Fried, with whom she subsequently won many international prizes and performs worldwide, including at Carnegie Hall in New York and Suntory Hall in Tokyo.
Her special interest in chamber music is evident in regular concerts with various artists. She has also been playing with Hilde Skomedal for 10 years. Together they performed in Japan, Norway and Switzerland.

After the concert, the KulturBus will take you free of charge to Scuol, Ftan, Ardez and Tarasp. Register at the box office.
