Surrounded by an ancient cultural landscape, enveloped in the sounds of Alpine nature and breathing in the scent of forests, meadows and Alpine pastures, you have almost arrived in the Middle Ages. An unforgettable ride along historic paths past castles, monasteries and culinary surprises.

Day 1: San Jon (1465m) - Funtana da S-charl (2393m) - Buffalora
We start in San Jon and ride along the Clemgia river to S-charl. Lead and silver were mined and smelted here for more than 300 years. Here, next to the Swiss National Park, the last brown bear was shot in 1904. The possible return of the brown bear to Switzerland is currently being investigated. The route continues to Tamangur, past the highest Swiss stone pine forest in Europe, up to Funtana da S-charl (2393 metres above sea level) and on to the top of the Ofen Pass (Süsom Givè) to Buffalora. (Overnight stay at the Hotel Süsom Givè)

Day 2: Buffalora - Val Mora- Sta. Maria
From the Buffalora Alp we ride through the picturesque, unspoilt high valley of Val Mora to Sta Maria, overnight stay at the Hotel Stelvio in Santa Maria.

Day 3: Sta Maria - Taufers - Laatsch (950m) - Burgeis (1203m)

From Sta Maria we ride past the monastery of St. Johann, Müstair, with the statue of Charlemagne and the unique cycle of frescoes. The monastery was recognised as a World Heritage Site in 1983. We continue to the westernmost municipality in South Tyrol, still in the Münstertal valley, to Taufers in Italy. Following the Rombach stream, we reach Laatsch, a village with rural charm and the proud St. Leonhard church in the midst of an unspoilt natural landscape. At the foot of the Arunda Valley, we come to Schleis with its impressive Laurentius parish church and then follow the River Adige to the pretty Val Venosta farming village of Burgeis, which is rich in oriels, archways, frescoes and open staircases. The highest Benedictine abbey in Europe is located here, a foundation of the Noble Lords of Tarasp, the Marienberg Monastery. We spend the night in Burgeis at the Sporthotel St. Michael.

Day 4: Burgeis - Brugger Alm (1914m) - Reschen
After a strenuous ascent we reach the Brugger Alm, where we enjoy a breathtaking view over the Vinschgau Valley. We ride on to Reschen on Lake Reschen. Here you will find the most frequently depicted photo motif of the Venosta Valley - the church tower of Alt-Graun. In 1950, a village had to make way for the construction of the reservoir and today the tower rises out of the lake as a reminder of this. Overnight accommodation with a view over Lake Reschen at the Pension Froy in Reschen

Day 5: Reschen - Rescheneralm - Nauders
After a steep ascent, we reach the Reschner Alm, which is located above the Reschen Pass, one of the most important historical Alpine crossings, which connected the upper Inn Valley with the Vinschgau Valley in the south as a mule track in pre-Roman times. We continue past the 'border triangle' at Schwarzsee to Nauders, where we spend the night at Hotel Bergblick (1407m).

Day 6: Nauders - Norbertshöhe (1406m) - San Niclà 81063) - San Jon
In the morning we ride up to Norbertshöhe (1407m). We descend steeply down the mountain to Sclamischot. In this narrow gorge, where the Inn rages before it is allowed to escape into the Tyrol at the eerie Finstermünz castle bridge. Along the Inn, past small enchanted villages on the sun terrace, which bear witness to early settlements, we pass St. Niclà, Sur En and reach San Jon in the evening.
