NATURAMA lecture: Long before the National Park

Since the Swiss National Park was founded 111 years ago, the use of the park area by humans has largely come to a standstill. That wasn't always the case. The remoteness and inaccessibility were certainly reasons why the national park was founded along the Ova dal Fuorn of all places. In earlier times, however, the Alps, forests and various raw materials were also used by humans in this area. In addition, the transport routes over the Ofen Pass and the Passo di Fraéle played an important role for centuries. Traces of these human activities can still be found in many places today. In this lecture, we follow them back to the Stone Age and gain interesting insights into the use of the area before parking. | The Auditorium Schlossstall of the Swiss National Park is located directly next to the castle. 10 minutes from the train station.
