Bach is more
At the opening, the string quartet takes the audience into the world of Bach's work. The fugues and preludes composed by Bach are didactic pieces in music theory and composition. This also includes the unfinished work "The Art of the Fugue", which is considered the crowning glory of Bach's contrapuntal art. On this occasion, the pieces Contrapunctus 1, 2 and 4 will be heard.

A strong piece
The Stabat Mater is an expressive, musically intimate view of the Passion of Christ from the perspective of his mother Mary. The spiritual content revolves around the story of Jesus' suffering, in which his mother takes part while standing under the cross.
Pergolesi's composition takes the listener into the events on Gologatha with its urgency and passionate expressiveness. At the end there is the hope of redemption through Christ's suffering, death and resurrection: "Fac ut animae donetur Paradisi gloria" - Make that my soul may be given the glory of paradise.

The right work at the right time
In its abundance of emotions, this music makes you think, builds bridges to our time. In the midst of a world full of suffering, the Stabat Mater encourages the sorrowful and frightened souls to stand up courageously, to Paradisi gloria, now, here and today.
