"The Mountain Plucks" with Gian Rupf

Rupf's literary hunt in mountain literature surprises and stirs up. Sometimes it's an extreme situation on the steepest north face, then a cozy evening walk in the blue hour.
The actor Gian Rupf has been intensively involved with mountain literature over the last 20 years and has led him dramatically and literarily into the mountains. With "Bergtheater" he has played in tens of dozens of SAC huts and lived out the drama on the mountain. In 2010 he received the Culture Prize of the SAC Switzerland.

Rupf seduces the audience into the wildness of language. His literary hunt in mountain literature surprises and stirs up. Sometimes it's an extreme situation on the steepest north face, then a cozy evening walk in the blue hour. Gian Rupf brings wonderful texts to life, sometimes absurd and funny, sometimes profound and sensual and the stories always hit the heart. The actor, wordsmith and language artist loves to give every text the necessary sound with his voice: abysmal, lively, funny, sneaky, remorseful, brutal, fine, humble and sprawling.

Gian Rupf (*1967) from Graubünden studied at the Zurich Drama Academy (ZHdK). For 15 years he worked as an actor in Germany: Landesbühne Wilhelmshaven, Landestheater Tübingen LTT, Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf, Theater der Stadt Bielefeld and freelance in Munich. He now lives in Switzerland again and realises various theatre projects and radio plays of his own. Rupf also works for Swiss television SRF as a speaker: DOK, Reporter and Sternstunden, and he is the voice of Kulturplatz.
