Hardly anyone normally sees themselves as an "anti-Semite" today. The majority would already reject this suspicion indignantly. Nevertheless, especially in times of crisis - such as the Corona pandemic - certain anti-Jewish or anti-Semitic attitudes come to the surface again in the form of conspiracy narratives. Since October 7, 2023, the Jewish community worldwide has been experiencing how it becomes a projection screen for well-known anti-Semitic images. The number of anti-Semitic crimes has multiplied. But what does "anti-Semitic" mean exactly? And what does it mean here in Davos, where Jewish families have been particularly fond of vacationing for generations?

Dr. Michael Blume, author and anti-Semitism commissioner of the state of Baden-Württemberg, will provide competent information about this. The event will be moderated by the Davos Reformed pastor Astrid Fiehland.

CV Michael Blume:
Dr. Michael Blume is a religious scholar and has been working at the Baden-Württemberg State Ministry since 2003. He was responsible for the project group "Special Contingent for Particularly Vulnerable Women and Children from Northern Iraq" and headed the department for "Non-Christian Religions, Values, Minorities, Projects Northern Iraq" from 2016 to 2020. In March 2018, he was appointed Commissioner of the State of Baden-Württemberg against Anti-Semitism. He publishes books and blogs regularly on various topics in the fields of religion and politics. Since 2020, he has been running the podcast "Conspiracy Questions", in which he educates about anti-Semitic myths.

CV Astrid Fiehland:
Astrid Fiehland van der Vegt has been the pastor of the Reformed Congregation Davos Dorf/Laret and the Hochgebirgsklinik Davos since 2018. Previously, she was a parish priest in Hamburg-Nienstedten for 21 years. Until 1995, she headed the Evangelical Pilgrimage and Meeting Center on the Mount of Olives and supervised several classes of theology students at the Hebrew University in the "Study in Israel" program. She has been involved in interreligious dialogue for decades. For more than 30 years, she was a member of the EKD's Study Commission on Church and Judaism, among other things.
