Experience hut life like once. The Ela Hut SAC, located between the two mountain ranges Piz Ela and Tinzenhorn, offers not only pure nature, but also the feeling of being cared for. The hut is considered an insider tip for gourmets.

Description

The Ela Hut (Romansh: Chamonas d'Ela) is a shelter of the Davos section of the Swiss Alpine Club SAC. It is located in the Albula Mountains at an altitude of 2,252 m above sea level in the upper Val Spadlatscha in the area of the municipality of Filisur in the middle of the Natural Park Parc Ela. Next to the new Ela-Hut there is the old Ela-Hut. This is about five minutes' walk below today's Ela Hut and is often used by groups. The hut serves as a base for an ascent of the Piz Ela (3'339 meters above sea level) and the Tinzenhorn (3'173 meters above sea level). It has 26 campsites in the upper, newer hut and 8 sleeping places in the lower old hut and is unmanaged. On the weekend during the summer season, however, a section member is present at the hut. The cottage is open all year. Through numerous assignments of honorary section members, this gem is always kept in focus. In the summer of 2008, many renovations were carried out, the water sources were redesigned and the hut area was redesigned.

From July to October there is a member of the section in the hut on the weekends. There is no half board, for the food every guest is responsible. The weekend cabinkeeper helps with the cook shops, sells red wine and ensures order. Drinks are available in the box in the entrance hall during the summer months. The prices are given and the checkout is at the box.
