Description
The tour starts at Wolfgang Pass near Kessler's Kulm, where the first loop is completed. After this warm-up loop, the route runs alongside the lake Davos and into the Flüela valley. It follows the World Cup track, passing the Cologna-Stutz, then heads over the snow-farmed trail to the end of the Flüela trail. During the fast ride back to Davos Dorf, there's plenty of time to catch your breath. Once down in the valley, the route goes straight into the next side valley: the Dischma Valley. The trail runs along the Dischma creek all the way to Teufi. Although the climbs aren't very long, they're quite challenging—but the view toward Dürrboden, which reveals itself from the Teufi heights, makes it all worthwhile. After the quick descent back to the night trail in Davos, the route continues over the Herz trail (previously an airfield) past Hofmänner Sport, heading toward Islen. Passing the AO Center, it goes toward the Waldfridhof and into the Sertig valley. For the third and final side valley, it's time to give it your all again. While it's not as steep as the Dischma valley, it's definitely longer. From Sertig Mill onward, the trail climbs along the creek toward Sertig Dörfli. The view at the highest point is spectacular. Sertig Dörfli—a Walser settlement with its charming little church, the towering mountains like Ducan, and the well-known Walserhuus all in one view—simply unforgettable. Now, it's the same trail back to Davos Frauenkirch, allowing you to soak in the forest, the creek, and the tranquility of nature one last time. The marathon route ends upon reaching Davos Frauenkirch. You can take a bus back to Davos Platz (free with the Davos Klosters Premium Card). If you still have enough energy, you can also ski back along the cross-country trail across the Landwasser plateau (along the river).
