Details

Description

The Bidanätsch snowshoe route leads from the Gadastatt mountain station of the gondola lift into a varied winter landscape. The 5.6 km long, fully marked route takes three hours to complete. Open fir forests, wide alpine pastures and an extensive mountain panorama surround the snowshoe hikers on their not very steep walk at an altitude of between 1800 and 2000 meters above sea level. The route is divided into a short loop (Gadastatt to Kristallloch) and a long loop (round tour from Kristallloch).

Geheimtipp

Take a leisurely break at the Gadastatt panorama restaurant. Enjoy the beautiful mountain panorama on the terrace in the sunshine.

Sicherheitshinweis

Please always check the current avalanche situation. You can find out whether the Bidanätsch snowshoe route (small and large loop) is open at Visit Vals or at the Vals mountain railroad. The Bidanätsch snowshoe route is only marked by the Vals mountain railroad during the winter season.

From avalanche level 3 (significant), there is a considerable risk of avalanches off the route. Do not leave the route! From avalanche level 4 (major), the Bidanätsch snowshoe route must not be used!

The snowshoe route requires snowshoes and solid equipment, careful time planning, basic knowledge of snow assessment and physical fitness. The route should only be walked in dry weather, with good visibility, never alone - and only along the markings. The snowshoe route is always undertaken at your own risk and responsibility.

Caution: Off the route, there is a risk of avalanches after fresh snowfall, strong winds or when temperatures rise sharply. Please observe closing times. Please do not leave the route.
