Description

We start with a few loose meters along the southern shore of the Lai da Sontga Maria, the reservoir at the Lukmanier Pass. At the end of the lake we turn right and follow the hut path to Capanna Cadlimo. The first 300 meters of altitude are still crisp, but then they are evenly distributed, so that we can quickly find our rhythm and enjoy the lonely valley with the picturesque wetlands. At the Cadlimo hut we have reached the first "highlight" of the route. Perfect for a break with coffee and cake. But eyes open, especially in autumn, ibexes can often be observed from the terrace of the hut.

From the hut, a short descent into Val Canaria requires our concentration before we branch off to the north and return to Graubünden via the Passo Bornengo. We are only briefly distracted by the original Steinmännchen colony at the height of Maighelspass, because we only take a break at the clear blue Lai Urlaun below the Maighelshütte.

It goes uphill again, after 30 minutes we reach the Tomasee, the source of the Rhine. However, until we reach the highest point of our round, the Pazolastock, we still have to bite a little. For this we are rewarded with a dream view of the Surselva and the Uri Alps. The descent via Las Puozzas is very easy, on the Oberalp Pass the highest lighthouse and two restaurants welcome us, where we pass the time until the departure of the train to Disentis.

Variant: After Lake Toma on the direct way to the Oberalp Pass

Sicherheitshinweis

In July, there may still be snow at the Bronengo Pass. see webcam: www.maighelshuette.ch

Directions

We follow the signposted hiking trail to the Cadlimo hut. After the hut descent and re-ascent, signposted with Oberalp Pass and Maighelshütte. At the Steinmännern in Val Maighels further down the valley. At the height of Maighelshütte we branch off onto the Vierquellenweg No. 49. At the lake we can go directly up to the Badushütte or make an arc around the lake. From Badushütte we follow the hiking trail to the Pazzolastock and the Oberalp Pass.
