Description

From the nature reserve around the little lake 'Stelsersee' you walk up to the peak 'Chrüz' and further on to St. Antönien. This is a typical ancient mountain village and its publicity slogan is 'Behind the moon on the left ....)

Geheimtipp

Pictures and photos last longer than picked flowers. So it is best to leave the flowers wher they grow and can be admired.

Sicherheitshinweis

Occasionally wet paths.

Directions

From Stels you follow the signposts to Stelserberg and further to Stelsersee. A little detour to the small lake is worth it: this lake is the highest location in Switzerland where you can admire the beautifully tender white waterlilies. Around the lake there are big amounts  of different rare flowers to be admired. Across the back of the 'Chrüz' it is first an easy walk getting steeper towards the peak. The panorama is outstanding, especially the view into 'Rätikon' with all the rocks for climbing. A bit further back you can see the glacier of 'Silvretta' and the meadows of 'Parsenn'  which are full of skiers in winter. The descent leads over the back of the 'Chlei Chrüz' then into the side and descends down to the alp 'Valpun'. The path across lush meadows and forest takes you across to the hamlet 'Aschüel' and from there over a road to St. Antönien.
