Description

Even the journey to the start of the tour is an adventure: a 4x4 bus winds its way through the 12 km long mountain road from Fideris to the Berghaus Arflina at exactly 2000 m above sea level.M. Accordingly, the view is magnificent from the beginning! Through lush meadows it goes up to the Clun lakes and on to the Arflinafurgga. From now on it gets exciting: a partly challenging mountain path follows the ridge via Hinteregg to Glattwang. The popular ski touring destination is rarely visited in summer, but offers one of the most beautiful views of the rock faces of the Rätikon on the other side of the valley. In the descent you pass the Glattwangseeli, which invites you to cool off on a hot summer day. A short time later you reach the starting point again via pastures.

About the author:
Stephan Hugenschmidt is the winner and course record holder of the Eiger Ultra, Zugspitz Ultratrail and Madrisa Trail. Stephan lives in Grüsch and knows the trails in Prättigau like his pocket. He particularly loves the fact that the trails are not overcrowded in Prättigau and that you can spend hours in an intact nature.

Geheimtipp

  • The grassy mountains above the Fideriser Heuberge are ideal for tightrope walks. For example, from Glattwang via Arflinafurgga, Mattjisch Horn, Zenji to the Chistenstein. On the descent you take the Girenspitz with you and come back on an alpine path.
  • Return to the valley by scooter
