Klosters Circuit Tour Stage 7 - Schlappin - Skas

This trail leads you from the Walser settlement Schlappin out of the valley to the 70.5m long suspension bridge. This bridge, which was opened in June 2017, is probably the newest section on this trail, from which you can partly see today's National Road, the Cantonal Road, the old valley road as well as the railway line. It is not a matter of course that the Prättigau valley and therefore also Klosters is so well connected in terms of transport. In 1900, the Kleiner Rat (council) even issued a general ban on driving with cars on all roads in the Canton of Graubünden!

This trail is especially beautiful in autumn, when the leaves in the beech forest are brightly coloured.

From Schlappin: Follow the road and turn off at the signpost onto the forest path, which will lead you to "Flue". As soon as you reach the "Flue", you get onto a gravel road. Follow this in the direction of "Schlappintobel". The gravel road leads you to the Schlappinstrasse, follow it further downhill towards "Klosters Platz". As soon as you see the suspension bridge to your right, turn off at the next signpost towards "Mezzaselva". Then follow the first signpost to "Klosters Dorf" and then to "Mezzaselva" and "Serneus" respectively. As soon as you reach the waterfall, it is worth making a small detour to the "viewing platform" at the foot of the waterfall. The path then leads you further, following the signpost "Bergwanderweg" up to a gate. Pass this and from now on follow the signs in the direction of "Saas". At one point you will reach a gravel road again, which you must cross and follow the narrow path into the forest. At the bus stop "Waldhof" follow the signs in the direction of the barbecue site. From the barbecue site follow the gravel road leading past the Toitoi toilet cabin. Then follow the road downhill in the direction of "Saas Station" and then in the direction of the „Nature Trail". At the end of the Nature Trail, follow the signpost in the direction of "Panoramaweg". As soon as you reach the end of the Panoramaweg, follow the signposts in the direction of Saas Dorf.

Optional starting points: - Klosters Dorf, bus stop Rufinis (follow the signs to Schlappin until you see the suspension bridge to your left).- Bus stop Überm Bach (from here follow the signs to Saas)- Bus stop Waldhof (follow the signs in the direction of the barbecue site)

Optional finish points: - Bus stop Rufinis (follow Schlappinstrasse downwards instead of crossing the suspension bridge until you reach the main road)- Mezzaselva bus stop (turn left just after the bridge at the waterfall, follow the path down until you reach the road and turn right)- Bus stop Waldhof (follow the road down from the barbecue site until you reach the country road).
